TRAFALGAR RELEASING and SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, in partnership with THE ESTATE OF WHITNEY E. In 1994, HOUSTON performed three concerts in SOUTH AFRICA, as the first major Western artist to visit the country after apartheid. The tour attracted over 200,000 attendees. A portion of the proceeds benefited SOUTH AFRICAN children’s charities through HOUSTON’s foundation.
The concerts were held at:
KINGS PARK STADIUM, DURBAN on NOVEMBER 8th
JOHANNESBURG on NOVEMBER 12th
CAPE TOWN on NOVEMBER 19th
Along with the remastered concert film, a live album titled THE CONCERT FOR A NEW SOUTH AFRICA (DURBAN) will be released on NOVEMBER 8th. It will feature the previously unreleased track “Love Is.” Tickets and pre-orders are available at WHITNEYSOUTHAFRICA.com.
