WBTF/Lexington, KY Names Sawyers & Price Co-PDs, Jay Alexander Exits After 21yrs
LM COMMUNICATIONS Urban WBTF (107.9 THE BEAT)/LEXINGTON, KY has named LASHAYNA “SHAYNA” SAWYERS and KIM “FLY KP” PRICE co-PDs.
The appointments follow the exit of JAY ALEXANDER, who departs after 21 years with the station to focus on his new role as Public Information Officer for FAYETTE COUNTY COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS. ALEXANDER joined WBTF shortly after it flipped to Urban in 2000. He served as PD and afternoon host.
SAWYERS returns full-time to WBTF after voice tracking middays while employed at RADIO ONE Urban WHHH (HOT 100.9)/INDIANAPOLIS. She originally joined LM COMMUNICATIONS in 2017 and held roles within the cluster including APD, middays, and afternoon co-host on Hot AC WCDA (HITS 106.3). The newly named co-PD now moves into afternoon drive at WBTF.
PRICE has been with WBTF since 2013. She most recently served as MD/weekends and producer for Sports WLXG (ESPN 1300/92.5). She now moves into middays to go along with her co-PD duties.
