ISAAC HAYES’ family has initiated legal action against DONALD TRUMP and his campaign for the unauthorized use of the song “Hold On, I’m Coming” at campaign rallies. The lawsuit, filed by ISAAC HAYES ENTERPRISES, was recently made public (8/10) by ISAAC HAYES III on social media platform X (Formerly TWITTER.)

ISAAC HAYES III, the son of the late GRAMMY winner said on social media, “We, the family of ISAAC HAYES, represented by WALKER & ASSOCIATES, are suing DONALD TRUMP and his campaign for 134 counts of copyright infringement for the unauthorized use of the song “Hold On, I’m Coming” at campaign rallies from 2022-2024.”

The post demanded “the cessation of use, removal of all related videos, a public disclaimer, and payment of $3 million in licensing fees by AUGUST 16th. Failure to comply will result in further legal action.”

DAVID PORTER, who co-wrote the song with HAYES, told SAM WEAVER, “I voiced my objection to the song being used the first time the campaign used it. I’m definitely not against the HAYES estate filing a lawsuit.”

PORTER, a member of the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME, co-wrote many songs with HAYES, including “SOUL MAN,” and “WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY.”
