Radio One/Charlotte Hosts Radiothon For Hurricane Helene Relief
RADIO ONE/CHARLOTTE & SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF METROLINA will host a radiothon TODAY 10/17) to help those affected by HURRICANE HELENE. The event will run from 6a -7p (ET). All of its local stations will take part — R&B WOSF (105.3 R n B,) News WBT (1110-A/99.3-FM,) Sports Radio WFNZ (92.7,) Hot AC WLNK (MIX 107.9,) Gospel WPZS (PRAISE 100.9,) and Urban WOSF-HD2 (102.5 THE BLACK).
In addition to the radiothon, SECOND HARVEST will hold a supply drive from 8a -5p (ET) at its headquarters. Donations collected will help relief efforts in 24 counties across NORTH and SOUTH CAROLINA.
RADIO/ONE CHARLOTTE Regional VP MARSHA LANDESS said, “We’re using the power of our stations to raise funds and help those who’ve been impacted. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.”
SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK CEO KAY CARTER added, “We’re grateful to the radio stations and their listeners for supporting our efforts. Donations will go directly to those in need.”
