Personality Linda Moorer 2025 Pensacola, FL MLK Parade Grand Marshall

Veteran radio personality and community leader LINDA “SONSHINE” MOORER will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. PARADE in PENSACOLA, FL. The event will take place on JANUARY 20th.

Parade organizer CHERYL MULRAIN said, “MOORER has been a vital voice in the community for over 20 years, addressing topics from health and aging to social and cultural concerns. Her dedication to uplifting the community made her an obvious choice for the honor.”

“She has been out there helping the community for a long time. She highlights the people and the issues and has always used her voice in any way she can for the betterment of people.”

MOORER added, “I tell you, when I found out, I had to fight the tears. It was not in my wildest dreams. I’m filled with gratitude to represent the city’s grandest parade, one that is about peace, love, and equality.”

She began her broadcasting career in 1988 on an AM station in her hometown of MONTGOMERY, AL. Most recently (2024) she worked for CUMULUS MEDIA as PD/on-air for WRRX (MAGIC 106.1)/PENSACOLA, FL. Currently, she hosts “SONSHINE’S CORNER” on BLAB-TV, airing MONDAY through FRIDAY from 9a-10a. (ET).

MOORER holds degrees from ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY and SOUTHERN STATE UNIVERSITY.
