Hard Pill To Swallow

AUDACY, now operating as a private company, has laid off between 200 to 300 employees across multiple departments, including on-air talent, traffic, sales, national digital content, and management. The cuts affected staff at both local and national levels, including members of the BETMGM NETWORK.

These reductions follow the recent departures of CEO DAVID FIELD and CFO RICH SCHMAELING, which came after a U.S. BANKRUPTCY JUDGE signed off on the final decree closing the company’s CHAPTER 11 reorganization case. Board member KELLI TURNER was named interim CEO following FIELD’s exit.

In ST. LOUIS, the entire on-air staff of WHHL (HOT 104.1) and WFUN (96.3 THE LOU) were impacted. Those departing include midday host HAE BAE, afternoon host/APD PRINCESS STORMM, and evening host DJ RAYMOND. STORMM, who also served as APD for WFUN, has been with the stations since 2009, starting as an intern.
