National Hip-Hop Museum Enters Cannabis Industry With Three DC Dispensaries
The NATIONAL HIP-HOP MUSEUM (NHHM) has expanded its footprint with the launch of three medical CANNABIS dispensaries in WASHINGTON, DC. The new locations include THE LIFTED SHOP, THE LIFTED LOUNGE, and THE ORBIT SHOP, blending CANNABIS retail with Hip-Hop memorabilia, artifacts, and exclusive product collaborations with legendary artists.
NHHM plans to open THE HOUSE OF HIP-HOP in the coming months. It will be a place where visitors can see memorabilia and art and watch performances.
Founder/Collector JEREMY BEAVER said, “CANNABIS has been an integral part of Hip-Hop, and it’s been a win-win to offer Hip-Hop-themed strains in collaboration with Hip-Hop’s biggest names to generate revenue for Hip-Hop legends and the NATIONAL HIP-HOP MUSEUM.”
The LIFTED SHOP, located near HOWARD UNIVERSITY, houses THE HOUSE OF HIP-HOP, the museum’s primary exhibition gallery. The LIFTED LOUNGE, at 406 FLORIDA AVE NW, will feature an art gallery, a gaming space, and a smoke lounge with live DJs. The ORBIT SHOP, at 1919 18TH STREET NW, serves as the museum’s flagship retail store and now offers medical cannabis in compliance with DC regulations.
BEAVER added, “We’re going through the process of getting licensed right now so that our retail store has the ability to sell legal, medical CANNABIS products in WASHINGTON, DC. It’s medical, not recreational. That’s the way the law here states.”
The dispensaries offer Hip-Hop-themed CANNABIS strains in collaboration with legendary artists, including “SUGAR HILL DELIGHT” from THE SUGAR HILL GANG, “CASANOVA FLY” from GRANDMASTER CAZ, and “SLAM” from ONYX.
