MediaCo Taps Albert Rodriguez For Interim CEO, René Santaella To COO
MEDIACO/NEW YORK has appointed ALBERT RODRIGUEZ as Interim CEO. He joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer and Pres. of its audio division in SEPTEMBER. He’s replacing JACQUELINE HERNÁNDEZ, who served as CEO for a six-month term and will continue on MEDIACO’s Board of Directors.
RODRIGUEZ joined MEDIACO after resigning as Pres. and COO of SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM (SBS) in OCTOBER 2023. During his 24-year career with SBS, he advanced from General Sales Manager in MIAMI to Pres. in 2021.
In addition, MEDIACO has also appointed RENE SANTAELLA as COO, succeeding BRIAN KEI, who exited from the company after a five-week tenure. SANTAELLA previously served as SVP/Head of Ad Sales & Business Operations at SONY PICTURES TELEVISION DIGITAL NETWORKS, where he led the development of CRACKLE as a free ad-supported streaming channel.
Earlier in his career, he was Director of Ad Sales Marketing at DISNEY INTERACTIVE, overseeing digital and cross-platform advertising with major corporate partners.
MEDIACO owns WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK and WBLS (107.5)/NEW YORK. They recently expanded its Hispanic broadcasting reach with the addition of two SPANISH-language HD radio signals in NEW YORK CITY under the ESTRELLA umbrella.
