LOUISVILLE PUBLIC MEDIA (LPM) has selected veteran broadcast Exec. KENYA YOUNG as Pres./CEO, effective MAY 19th. She succeeds STEPHEN GEORGE, who stepped down in JANUARY and was recently elected Public Dir. for the NPR BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

YOUNG is currently the NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO SVP. She oversees national shows, podcasts, broadcast operations, live events, and audience development. Before that, she spent 15 years at NPR, where she served as Managing Editor and Exec. Producer of MORNING EDITION and UP FIRST.

LPM is celebrating its 75th anniversary. It operates three stations –News Talk WFPL (89.3), Classical WUOL (90.5), and Adult Alternative WFPK (91.9). The company also operates the KENTUCKY CENTER FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING and a growing portfolio of podcasts.
