iHeartMedia/Chicago Celebrates 20 Years Of Local Community Advisory Board
iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO cluster of stations are celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Local Advisory Board (LAB) for “Living And Building CHICAGO Together. The program was created to strengthen the company’s existing partnerships in the CHICAGO community.
LAB is a community resource initiative. Each station –Hip-Hop & R&B WGCI (107.5), R&B WVAZ (V103), Gospel WGRB (INSPIRATION 1390, AC WLIT (93.9 LITE FM), Rock WCHI (ROCK 95.5) Top 40 WKSC (103.5 KISS FM), and BLACK INFORMATION NETWORK WMFN (BIN 640AM) air a series of quarterly topical public service announcements, social media posts, provides special public affairs programming, and encourages listeners to visit their websites for more detailed resources.
iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO Pres./LAB CHAIR MATT SCARANO said, “The iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO LAB has been a beacon of light in the CHICAGOLAND community for 20 years. I am grateful for the LAB members’ contributions to iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO and the CHICAGOLAND community. We are better because of their service on the LAB.”
iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO Public Engagement SVP/LAB Co-Chair ANGELA T. INGRAM added, “We salute the more than 50 iHEARTMEDIA CHICAGO LAB members who have championed many projects over the last 20 years ranging from a multi-media health campaign to voter registration initiative, to leadership recognition programs, to community gatherings, to providing public service programming content for our station brands.”

The LAB Membership consists of business leaders, civic leaders, community members, and iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO senior leaders. They meet quarterly to address the pressing issues affecting the community. The initiative provides information on health, stresses the importance of voting, and informs on employment opportunities.
