Google’s New AI Text-to-Video Project
GOOGLE has released VEO, an AI video generator, at I/O (INPUT/Output. In layman’s terms, the process for sending information into a system (input) and receiving information back from the system (output). VEO creates videos over a minute long and understands filmmaking terms. It’s a competitor to OpenAI’s SORA.
VEO interprets text, images, and videos to create 1080p clips (high-definition HD quality). Early clips (videos) showcased VEO’s abilities by inviting artists like DONALD GLOVER to experiment with it. GOOGLE is taking care of several issues by adding a digital watermark called SynthID. This watermark is like a unique mark or signature. Google will put them on videos created by using their new tool. It will show that the VEO videos were made using GOOGLE’s technology.
The Watermark Addresses:
– Attribution: There might be concerns about properly crediting or attributing videos created with AI-generated content to the correct creators or sources.
– Authenticity: There could be worries about distinguishing between AI-generated content and manually created content, ensuring transparency and trust among viewers.
– Intellectual Property: Concerns may arise regarding the ownership and protection of content generated using AI tools, especially in terms of copyright and licensing.
– Misuse: There might be concerns about the potential misuse of AI-generated content for unethical or harmful purposes, such as spreading misinformation or manipulating media.
– Legal Compliance: There could be legal considerations related to the use of AI-generated content, including compliance with regulations and standards governing media production and distribution.
