GEORGE CLINTON will be inducted into the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME as part of the 2025 class. The induction ceremony is scheduled for THURSDAY JUNE 12th at the MARRIOTT MARQUIS HOTEL in NEW YORK CITY.

CLINTON, recognized for his contributions to funk and is celebrated for his work with PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC — hits such as “Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)” and “Atomic Dog.” His influence has spanned decades.

The 2025 inductee list also includes THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, RODNEY “DARKCHILD” JERKINS, ASHLEY GORLEY, TONY MACAULAY, and THE BEACH BOYS’ MIKE LOVE.

SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME CHAIRMAN NILE RODGERS said, “The foundation of the music industry exists because songwriters compose great songs. Without them, there is no recorded music, no concert business, no fans, or merchandising; it all starts with the song and the songwriter. These songwriters have enriched the lives of billions of listeners the world over. It’s our honor to honor them.”

CLINTON’s honors include his induction into the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1997 and receiving the GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD in 2019.
