Looking For Anything

FCC Commissioner BRENDAN CARR has introduced a new deregulatory initiative titled “Delete, Delete, Delete” aimed at identifying and eliminating outdated regulations that allegedly impose unnecessary burdens on businesses. The FCC is seeking public input on which rules should be eliminated or revised under GN Docket No. 25-133.

CARR said, “For too long, administrative agencies have added new regulatory requirements in excess of their authority or kept lawful regulations in place long after their shelf life had expired. This only creates headwinds and slows down our country’s innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.”

The initiative aligns with PRESIDENT TRUMP’s Executive Order, “Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation”, signed JANUARY 31st, which requires agencies to identify at least 10 regulations for elimination for every new one issued. A second Executive Order, signed FEBRUARY 19th, directs agencies to review all existing regulations within 60 days in coordination with the DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY (DOGE).

The FCC’s review will examine regulations that the TRUMP administration believes hinders investment and technological progress. It will also assess rules that impose high costs on businesses without clear public benefits. The Commission is accepting comments on regulations that may no longer have legal standing due to court rulings or shifts in the communications industry. The comment deadlines for “Delete, Delete, Delete” will be set once the initiative is published in the FEDERAL REGISTER.
