COX MEDIA GROUP continues layoffs that began last week. The hardest hit markets were MIAMI and ORLANDO. Those impacted:

R&B WHQT MIAMI (HOT 105)/MIAMI:

Midday host JAMES T’ THOMAS at R&B WHQT (HOT 105)/MIAMI. He had been with the station since 2003 with airshifts at middays and afternoons.  His career with the cluster dates back to the 70s with stint as morning host at sister station WEDR (99.1) and in the ’80s as PD of the station. 

MISSEY BAILEY’s SUNDAY Morning Gospel show “On Assignment” is no longer. BAILEY had been with the cluster since 1999 originally beginning at WEDR.

JILL TRACEY departs as News Dir./Host of the local segments on the “RICKEY SMILEY Morning Show”. TRACEY started at the cluster in 1993 with WEDR. She also formerly co-hosted mornings at WHQT and most recently was the host of the SUNDAY night talk show “Hot Talk with JILL TRACEY”.

CHARLY MORGAN -Combined duties as Morning drive for AC WGMG (Magic 102.1)/ATHENS GA; Middays Country WNGC (YOUR GEORGIA COUNTRY (106.1)/ATHENS, GA; PM drive at Soft AC WEZI (EASY 102.9)/JACKSONVILLE, and nights at AC WSB-FM (B98.5)/ ATLANTA. 

JOE KELLEY -WDBO (580/107.3)/ORLANDO News Dir./PM drive host. His career resume includes seven years at sister COX station KRMG/TULSA.

AL LEVINE -Top 40 WBLI (106.1)/PATCHOGUE, NY APD/middays. He had been with the station since 1995, just shy of 30 years.

ROBIN FLORE -Classic Hits KONO (101.1)/SAN ANTONIO Morning host.

LOGAN BOOKERT -Sports WRFC (960 THE REF) ATHENS, GA Morning co-host.

EVAN PEDERSEN -Double responsibilities; middays for Classic Hits WZLR (95.3 The Eagle)/DAYTON and PM drive at WGMG (Magic 102.1)/ATHENS, GA.

IAN HOLLINGER -Top 40 WAPE (95.1) JACKSONVILLE morning show Producer/evening air talent
