Cox Media Group/Jacksonville Hosts ‘Healing After Domestic
Violence’ Forum
COX MEDIA GROUP/JACKSONVILLE Urban WJGL-HD2 (POWER 106.1) & R&B WHJX (HOT 106.5,) will host the “Healing After Domestic Violence” Forum on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24th, from 5-8p (ET) at the stations FARAH & FARAH Performance Studio.
The evening is in support of NATIONAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH. HOT 106.5’s WANDA P. will host.
Branding/Programming Dir. ELROY SMITH said, “This is such a personal, sensitive, and emotional subject matter to tackle as a radio station. However, if we proclaim to be the station for the people in JACKSONVILLE & DUVAL COUNTY, we must address life issues that affect our listeners. If we can impact one person who is internally crying to be rescued from abuse, we have done our job.”
Domestic violence affects approximately 10.5 million women and men annually in the UNITED STATES. The forum will feature survivors sharing their stories and experts providing support and answering questions from attendees.
