‘Litt Live’ Breaks The Mold, Akon’s Digital Radio Revolution Begins Now
LITT LIVE has launched as a new digital radio service built from what was previously DASH RADIO. Backed by recording artist AKON and a team of radio industry veterans, the platform offers programmed stations assembled by radio professionals and industry experts.
The company has appointed ROBERT SCORPIO as Pres./CEO. He most recently served as business development specialist at iHEARTMEDIA until his departure in JANUARY.
His resume includes SVP/Programming for iHEART’s SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA stations, VP/Programming/OM for WPGC/WASHINGTON DC, PD for RADIO ONE’s KBXX (97.9 THE BOX)/HOUSTON & KKBT (100.3 THE BEAT)/LOS ANGELES, PD for KDAY (93.5)/LOS ANGELES, and WESTWOOD ONE Exec Producer of “TOP 40 COUNTDOWN.”
Veteran programmer TONY NEAL has joined as PD/Brand Mgr./Urban Programming. KIRK (DJ ILLEGAL) WYATT has been appointed EVP/Programming.
AKON said, “LITT LIVE is not just a radio platform, it’s a movement. We’re bringing together the best in music, live experiences, and exclusive content to create something the industry has never seen before. This is the future of radio and music, and we’re only getting started.”
AUSTRALIAN investors BRENT THOMPSON and CODY MCDOWELL acquired DASH RADIO’s assets in 2023 and rebranded the service as LITT LIVE. The company says the deal preserved DASH RADIO’s content library and infrastructure. LITT LIVE aims to transform the platform into an experiential radio service with live events, exclusive artist access, and innovative programming.
THOMPSON added, “We’re turning up the volume on what radio can be. This isn’t just about streaming songs or running ads, it’s about creating a backstage pass to the world’s biggest music experiences. With live shows, exclusive access, and a global stage, LITT LIVE is here to change the game.”
LITT LIVE operates 80 stations with a roster of 200 hosts/DJs and partnerships with 50+ distribution channels. The company plans to expand into international markets, introduce premium subscriptions, and generate revenue through live event ticketing and exclusive access passes.
