TikTok Introduces Group Chats For Up To 32 Users
TIKTOK has introduced group chats, allowing up to 32 users to chat and share content directly within the app. This new feature puts TIKTOK in competition with messaging platforms like WHATSAPP and APPLE MESSAGES.
Previously, users shared TIKTOK videos through external messaging apps. Now, they can watch, comment, and react together without leaving TIKTOK.
Group chats are available to users over the age of 15. TIKTOK has added safety measures in the latest addition for teens aged 16 and 17. Only mutual followers can be added to group chats, ensuring more privacy and security. Teens can only join groups with at least one mutual friend, and they must approve new members added to the group.
TIKTOK said, “To help everyone feel comfortable, people can use muting and blocking tools and report messages or entire chats if content violates our Community Guidelines.”
To create a group chat, tap the “Chat” button in your inbox, select “More options,” choose your friends, and start the chat. To join a group chat, simply tap the invite and select “Join group.”
TIKTOK also plans to introduce custom stickers in direct messages (DMs) soon, allowing users to create and share personalized stickers in their chats. For more information, check here.
