Veteran programmer ELROY SMITH is hosting the “BOSTON Radio Reunion & Awards” on FRIDAY, JULY 26th, from 6-9p (ET) at the BRUCE C. BOLLING Municipal Building in BOSTON. Mayor MICHELLE WU will also proclaim JULY 26th as 1090 W.I.L.D Day.

SMITH, currently COX MEDIA GROUP (CMG)/Dir. of Urban Content, has deep ties to BOSTON. He graduated from EMERSON COLLEGE and CAMBRIDGE COLLEGE, was inducted into the EMERSON COLLEGE WERS HALL OF FAME, and programmed former day-timer WILD 1090-AM from 1983-1988.

SMITH said, “This celebration will be an evening of reconnecting and networking with current and former radio industry people. Boston has a rich history of excellence in broadcasting that should be preserved and celebrated.”

Awards to Be Presented:

1090 W.I.L.D Radio Award: KANDI EASTMAN -started her radio career at WILD. She’s currently mid-days at URBAN ONE/RADIO ONE KMJQ (MAJIC 102.1)\HOUSTON.

SUNNY JOE WHITE Award: JOJO ‘COOKIN’ KINCAID -former WXKS (KISS 108) BOSTON on-air personality.

EMERSON COLLEGE Media Achievement Award: STEPHEN HILL -former WILD programmer/on-air personality and former BET President of Music Programming & Specials.

Legacy Entertainment Award: RALPH TRESVANT -the BOSTON native is a member of the legendary group NEW EDITION and currently URBAN ONE/REACH MEDIA syndicated host of “Love and R&B.”
